Article 1 — The State and its form
(1) Magyarország független, demokratikus, parlamentáris köztársaság, amely a jogállamiságon és az ember sérthetetlen méltóságán alapul.
(2) Az Állam egyetlen ideológiához és egyetlen valláshoz sem kötődik.
(3) Magyarország egységes és oszthatatlan állam.
(1) Hungary is an independent, democratic, parliamentary republic, founded on the rule of law and on the inviolable dignity of the human person.
(2) The State is not bound to any ideology or to any religion.
(3) Hungary is a single and indivisible State.
